The Witton Park Academy vision is ‘succeeding together’. An intent that captures our desire for students to thrive as happy, healthy and confident individuals; whilst achieving well academically. Additionally, our vision statement highlights the nature of an essential relationship that must be shared between Academy staff and parents/ carers.
At Witton Park Academy, we constantly focus on standards as we understand outcomes are paramount. Our decision-making is driven entirely by what is best for children and the best interest of the child. We believe that all students should appear smart in their uniform and appearance. We are committed to creating a calm, safe, and respectful environment in which all pupils can learn and thrive. This Uniform and Appearance Policy sets out how we support positive behaviour, prevent and address disruption, and apply fair and proportionate sanctions. We value consistency, clarity and positive relationships.
We want students to take pride in their appearance, look smart and always represent our Academy values. All students are required to wear full compulsory Academy uniform. Uniform gives a sense of ‘belonging’ and pride in our School. Students are required to always wear uniform, unless specifically stated by the Academy (e.g. non-uniform days, activities, trips).
Whittakers and Grays are stockists of Witton Park Academy Uniform.
All pupils must wear a black blazer with edging for the particular year group with either a box pleated black skirt or black tailored trousers.
The colours are as follows for Academic Year 2025-2026:
- Year 7 – Teal blue edging on the lapel with a teal tie
- Year 8 – Royal blue edging on the lapel with a royal blue tie
- Year 9 – Purple edging on the lapel with a purple tie
- Year 10 – Red edging on the lapel with red tie
- Year 11 – Sky blue edging on the lapel with a sky blue tie
The colour that the child starts with in Year 7 will follow them through their time at school.
Uniform Guidance
- Shirt: White short-sleeve or long-sleeve button-up shirt (collared), no polo shirts unless there are SEN needs, and this has been agreed through an EHCP review and has been authorised by a senior Inclusion Leader.
- Trousers: black, fitted (not “skinny” or jersey material) and worn on the waist.
- Tie: Academy tie (must be worn correctly and at a suitable length- 6 button rule).
- Blazer: Academy blazer is compulsory and to be always worn – unless permission is given to remove e.g. for practical lessons and hot weather.
- Footwear: Black leather shoes polished and in good condition (see visual below). All shoes should be flat. Trainers (even those sold in school wear sections), sandals, pumps, open-toed shoes, or boots are not permitted. permitted for medical grounds.
- WPA Jumpers: Jumpers are compulsory for Year 7.
- Socks: Black plain – no bows, logos or brands. White or other colours are not permitted.
- Skirt: Black school skirt (Not mini-skirt style, knee length and not tightly fitted).
- Tights: If wearing a skirt, tights (60 denier or more) are compulsory for all students.
- PE Kit: WPA Navy logo shirt and plain black shorts/pants/joggers. Plain black socks and trainers suitable for physical activities
- Coats/Jackets: Ideally dark in colour and suitable for the weather.
- Belt: Plain black – no logo brands permitted.
- Headwear: Plain black hijab or headscarf for religious or cultural observance – faces must be visible for safeguarding.
Bags: Bags must be predominately black and large enough to carry books and/or equipment to and from school. This includes P.E bags.

WPA is committed to poverty proofing the school day. If you are struggling to meet the costs of replacement items, then please contact your child’s Head of Year / Pastoral Manager. We may have some second-hand uniform available but please note stock may be limited. If you need support regarding this please speak to a member of the pastoral team and the Academy can support.
