On the 23rd June, pupils performed their own devised piece of theatre as part of the ‘The Next Adventure’ performance, at the Dukes theatre, Lancaster. This performance was a combination of work produced during workshops led by professional actors from the Knotted Project. They based their performance on the theme of ‘self-discovery’ and awakenings.

The company said; ‘We were extremely pleased and impressed with the professionalism, talent and attitude of the GCSE Drama students at Witton Park Academy.

Each of them contributed fully to the devising process, suggesting ideas, writing monologues and creating movement. We had many discussions surrounding the projects theme of ‘self-discovery’ and were very impressed by the intelligent and insightful comments made by the students.

Each pupil involved in the project was a joy to work with and made us feel very welcome at Witton Park. They represented the school wonderfully at The Dukes Theatre performing and acting with professionalism and dedication. We are very proud of them all and each of them represented Witton Park Academy in a fantastic light’.
