Earth Day

13 April, 2018

Are you concerned about the future of the planet? Our students have been provided with the opportunity to think about how we can protect our planet. This week, all key stage 3 students have been looking at the issue of plastic waste, its impact on the marine environment as well as suggesting ideas on how school could become a zero plastic waste community. Mohammed in Year 9 said ‘ It was so upsetting to see the picture of the turtle caught in the plastic rings. I don’t think it is fair that we throw away so much rubbish, without thinking of the effect it has’. Each of the students have created a poster for Earth Day, so watch out in the next week for the winning posters! If you would like more information on Earth Day, use the following links – and Thank you to the Geography Department for creating the resources and being dressed to impress this week! [envira-gallery id=”4814″]
